Rafik, 18, from Malawi, one of the Youth Panel who helped put Youth For Change together.

“I joined a youth group in Malawi in 2011 because a lot of girls drop out of school and get married at a very young age before completing their primary education”, he says.

“This made me feel that participating in the youth group could help in delaying marriage for a lot of the girls in the area I come from”.

Youth For Change was an event for youth, by youth to help take action on girls’ rights. It was a one-day conference that took place on Saturday 19th July 2014, at the headquarters of the Department For International Development in London.
